Global Listening Festival 2024
“Listening for a Better World”
The Global Listening Centre (GLC) has established a global network of researchers and practitioners to further our understanding of effective listening practices. By sharing knowledge about listening, we can better address societal challenges locally and internationally. The GLC invites you to participate in a celebration of listening as we host a 7-day Global Listening Festival from 26th October to 2nd November 2024. This inspiring event will be accessible through Telecast, YouTube and Zoom.
The festival’s primary objective is to facilitate and promote research about listening within a vibrant global community, with the overarching theme being “Listening for a Better World.” We warmly encourage individuals to contribute presentations on diverse topics, such as the role of listening in education, healthcare, psychology, law, corporate settings, music, arts, environmental sustainability, issues related to war and peace, listening disorders, mental health, and spiritual well-being. Furthermore, we wholeheartedly welcome activities related to listening, encompassing areas like art, music, campaigns, poster presentations, storytelling, panel discussions, and more.
In a bid to embrace linguistic diversity, presentations will also be gladly accepted in major local languages. Abstracts for proposed presentations are to be submitted by the 31st of May 2024. Non-members are kindly requested to include biographies along with their submissions. Upon acceptance of the abstracts, presenters must pre-record their full presentations, with video submissions to be made by the 30th of July 2024. Each presentation should have a duration ranging from 15 to 40 minutes.
With your active involvement in this festival, we can collectively foster a world that listens more deeply and empathetically. Let us embrace the power of listening to create positive change and progress in our societies.
