Ivar A. Fahsing

Prof. Ivar A. Fahsing  Ph.D. is one of the top international leaders when it comes to Listening in the sector of security law enforcement & intelligence.

Ivar A. Fahsing (PhD) is a Detective Chief Superintendent and Associate Professor at the Norwegian Police University College.

He is currently co-authoring the UNPOL manual on investigative interviewing in cooperation with UNODC and the Norwegian Centre of Human Rights. He has published widely in the field of investigative management and decision-making, investigative interviewing, detective expertise, knowledge management and organised crime. He is used as an expert witness  in courts and has for many years been involved in transformation-work and training in Scandinavia, Europe, Africa, Asia, the United Nations, etc. He has 15 years of experience as a senior detective in the Oslo Police department and at the National  Criminal Investigation Service of Norway. With respect to the Global Listening Centre, Dr. Fahsings truly holds that improved understanding of the value of listening is fundamental for the success within the law and the security sector. If law and security  officials on all levels could learn and practise how to become better listeners we would at the same time show our citizens the fundamental dignity and respect they deserve. Which again will provide the key necessary to unlock the information and knowledge needed to understand what is, or has been, going on.
